My acer recovery disks won't work

I THINK SOMETHING ON MY COMPUTER HAS GOTTEN ERASED MY COMPUTER WILL NOT BRING UP MY RESTORE POINT IT ALSO WANT ALLOW ME TO SEARCH WEB PAGES IT BRINGS UP THE .COM BUT NOT THE SITE WHAT SHOULD I DO

See this Windows XP forum, sixth post from the top, to do the repair installation. The repair does not erase your personal files.
Follow the directions step by step, using the acer XP disk (if there is one) or you will need to find an XP installation disk to repair the system, OR have a computer shop do it for you.
