Hey I just want to be short and sweet here. I’m looking for ease and simplicity. I’ve read ALOT of reviews but I take personal experience over a published review any day.

Currently in the process of *upgrading* my rig. Got a new mobo coming in so I can OC my E8400 E0 proc. My goal isn't anything crazy 3.8 - 4.0Ghz thinking at max 444 FSB x9 with 1066Mhz Memory.

Guess this isn’t as short as I would like! but I was considering just going with an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro. Since its only 25 bucks and comes pre-thermal grease applied.

Looking for personal experience if possible. >> Would that cooling means suffice for a 3.8 - 4.0Ghz OC on a E8400 E0 ?? <<

Thank you kindly. I’ve been quite indecisive. Below will be my completed PC.

CPU --- E8400 Core2Duo overclocked to 3.8 - 4.0Ghz
Cooling --- Arctic freezer 7 pro - cpu cooler
Mobo --- GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 -w/ Ultra Durable 3 technology
Ram --- mushkin XP ASCENT w/ eVCI technology 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066
Video --- BFG GTX285 OC 1Gb DDR3 Video Card
Power --- OCZ 600 SXS PSU
Storage --- Seagate Barracuda ST3500418AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s

Goal --- 9 x 444 FSB with a 5:6 memory divider = 4Ghz Overclock with memory running at 1068Mhz

you can do 4ghz with the stock cooler so you should be fine tbh

Thanks for the reply. Ive heard rumors but didn't want to chance it. Not when an Aftermarket cooler goes for only 25 - 30 bucks. No reason to not ;)
