Can someone please point me in the right direction: Where can I find out what chipsets are top of the line? When I look at Mobo specs, all i see are numbers, they mean nothing to me, lol. For instance, I have ASrock Mobo A780GXE/128M. First of all, I'm not even sure if this mobo is that good--as my friend told me to get it, so I took his word for it that it was a solid and reliable mobo. Secondly, it has a AMD 780G NB and an AMD SB700 SB. Are these good, bad or in between? Is there a pattern to this numbering system like GPU's tend to have?

Thanks in advance,

1DoM.

Chipsets for AMD, from best to worst:

No IGP
790FX
790X
770

With IGP:
790GX
785
780

740

any chipset below that would be a generation to old to be bought new.

Nvidia:
980a
780a
750a
8200/8300
7000 series (680a)

ITS ACCORding to what you plan to do with the board, to me any board is ok, once everything is discrete, i.e., dont plan to run crysis on any of those igps
