Serial number

I want to remove the F: drive from my chassis and replace it with another drive. But the F and D drives are the same (WD Caviar 1Tb). So I need to find the serial number associated with a particular drive letter, unless I want to play the trial and error game. How can I do this?

WD has a program you can download on thier website that will read Your serial numbers. But I don't know if it works with OEMs bought from a parts website.

Any program that can read the SMART data in the drive (such as "DiskCheckup") can tell you what the serial numbers are.
