Changing my ATI3870 to 4870. Need guidance. Another post on different site stated to just use the installation CD from new VGA, while some posts state a more in-depth uninstall/install procedure. Anyone having ATI experience would be most helpful and appreciated.

Asus P5E - 4 gbs /crucial, Q6600, Coolermaster Cosmos, 28" Hanns.

Uninstall existing driver through Add/Remove programs. It should remove Catalyst bloatware along with the driver itself.

Reboot.

Run driver sweeper to mop up remains.

Install driver.

Don't use driver that comes on the CD. Those are old/glitchy.
