Hello everyone,

i'm going to build a new pc. i'm very new in pc building. so some opinions and recommendations on the new system are very appreciated. i want to use the pc mainly to play games like COD 4, Crysis & etc. i also dont plan to overclock it.

processor: intel e8400.

motherboard: asus p5q pro

graphic card: asus 9800 gt

ram: corsair 800mhz 2gb X 2

hard disk: western digital 500gb

monitor: samsung 226bw

power supply unit: cooler master real power pro 750w

opt drive: pioneer dvd-rw sata

as for the other components, i havent decided what i want to buy. i also have some questions;

1. if i use e8500 instead of e8400, 9800 gtx instead of 9800gt and corsair 1066mhz instead of 800mhz, would it make a lot of difference?

2. is it necessary to buy cpu heat sink and sound card?

sorry for my bad english. thank you.

It looks like a strong component list. I doubt there would be much difference in the upgrades you mention though the faster graphics card may be noticeable I built a gaming rig with an 8800 gts card and it can handle crysis at 1900 by 1200 though the plants up the trail a ways fill in later
The conclusions on THG usually show little noticeable difference between the upper level hardware like what you are describing
some aftermarket heat sink fan combo is a great idea
