I've been working on a new computer build for myself. If you read my previous thread- I have decided to go with the Antec 1200, I couldn't pass up the nice price.
Alas, My wife would like a computer in or near the kitchen and I have plenty of components to go with my old P4 2.8.

I'd like some suggestions on inexpensive tiny cases. I don't mind buying a cheap micro ATX MB to go with it (if you known of one, let me know). I don't even care if the case has any external drive bays. It really will be for web-surfing, word processing, and that might just be it.

Thanks,
Quinn

The Shuttle KPC looks nice as a barebones system, but my processor is a socket 478 and not the 775.

Any other thoughts?

Better off going with a new system at this point. Socket 478 motherboards are rare these days. The only place to find them is Ebay. For web surfing and word processing, you can always go with the Atom.

Agree. I always thought one of those would make a great little web computer.

I wonder how good it is. 85$ for motherboard and dual core cpu, hard to beat.

How about a mini itx mobo? This one would be fine for web browsing etc and comes with atom cpu:

This micro atx mobo is available for socket 748:

Both fit in this case (which is small):

Yeah, the main problem is that P4 is gonna kick out a monster load of heat, not good in a small case....

For not much money these days you can get a cheap dual core or AMD BE processor and a micro atx motherboard... far cooler and consequently more reliable in a small case.....

all I can say is 4850BE with a AMD 780G mATX mobo, extremely low power/low heat and you can find more info on it here at toms if you look at little, cheap and excellent
