I would like to buy a couple of components (as upgrades) for my PC, including a new
graphics card. Last year I bought FOXCONN 9657MA-8EKRS2H motherboard and Nvidia Geforce
9600 GSO barely fits in this motherboard but it did work.
However, now I would like to upgrade to a better graphics card (such as Geforce 8800
Ultra, Geforce 9800 GX2 or even Geforce 280 GTX) and I am not sure if they would fit into
my motherboard.
Basically, FOXCONN 9657MA-8EKRS2H has around 25cm space for graphic cards (in terms of
length) which is not a big issue because the hard drive cage can always be bent or even
removed. My primary concern is a little battery on one side and ram on the other which
severely limit the available width. Geforce 9600 GSO without its cover is a very slim
card and it only barely fits in. Thus, I do not believe there is any chance that, for
example, Geforce 9800 GX2 would fit inside.
Please advise me, what is at the moment the best graphics card on the market which would
surely fit into FOXCONN 9657MA-8EKRS2H motherboard?
If the battery doesn't raise above that PCI-e 1X slot you'll be fine as far the motherboard is concerned. The case is a different issue altogether though.
The one on the bottom is an 8800GT (Same length as your 9600GSO), and it's being compared with the 9800GX2 (Same length as the 280GTX,260GTX,8000GTX, 8800Ultra)
