The board doesn't need to support Crossfire X because the Maximus Formula says it can do Crossfire not "X" but I don't' know for sure..

@Coolio_Alert CrossfireX just basically allows us to mxit xx50 and xx70 cards together. It has nothing to do with the motherboard itself but the drivers instead.

I have a Asus Maximus using 4870 Crossfire and it works quite well.

i have a motherboard intel GD33 does it support hd 4870 card

Any MB with a PCIE 16x expansion slot will support the 4870.
