Im interested in getting an aftermarket air cooler for my brand spanking new 4870 x2. The current cooler runs hot and loud, so i was hoping there is something better out there? From what i can tell from fourms, the Zalman vf700's have the right mounting hole spacing. But will two of them fit on the 4870 x2? Does anyone know this for sure, or that another setup will work?

Thanks
vf700 barely cools the hd3700 (I know this becouse I haad it untill i changed my card), it will not be enough for hd4870. I think that not even vf900 is enough. I was searching for an aftermarket replacement for my hd4870 and after all i red, i wil go with vf1000 ( there is one more that can do the work, but i can't remember the name now). You are stucked with the original cooler untill someone makes aftermarket cooler specialy for hd4870x2.
I doubt it,I know the VF700's fit the 3870's..I have one on each of mine in crossfire and they work awesome, temps are down to 28-30'C idle and maybe 50'C while gaming.
checked some of the other forums..no aftermarket coolers for the 4870's yet as I can see..
I guess the real question here is why the hell hasn't anyone like zalman or thermalright released an aftermarket cooler for them yet? They haven't even released one for the 3870X2 yet as far I can tell. ahh well, thanks for the posts... I'll get back to waiting.....
