Hey basically iv got a new pc and it has a hd 4850, just wondering should the core clock be at 500mhz when its idle? it seems too go up too 650mhz sometimes in game, could this just be a energy saving function? my mobo is a ga-p45-ds3 if this helps.

Thanks in advanced

yea its to save energy, when you start playing or any heavy graphic application it goes back to default clocks.
