I have the i7 860 cpu.

I just ordered The Cooler Master RR-B10-212P cooler
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6835103065

I plan on using artic silver 5, but I'm doubting that their instructions are best for this cooler.

The bottom of this cooler isn't 'perfectly' flat. The artic silver instructions say to put 1 horizontal beed across the middle of the cpu. This worries me. Since the heatsink isn't perfectly flat I doubt an even coat would form after putting the heatsink on.

Should I just put an even coat over the entire cpu?

Heres a picture of the bottom of the heatsink so you can see what I mean

There is a better way. Shadow will post today I'm sure and tell you how to apply paste. You can search Google probably and find it. It's thin lines across the pipes or summing like that.
