Hello,

I have one internal HDD and one external HDD that appear to be causing PC's (3+) to freeze when reading data off of them.

I have never experienced anything like this and was looking for confirmation.

I ran each respective manufactures tool on the drives and they are both reported as OK in every test.
How ever using the Seagate drive Windows froze with 3 seperate hardware setups at the exact same point during Windows installation (after reboot, giu loads, and keyboard, language, network setup) when it says 29-26 Minutes left. It also makes the PC freezes when reading data from it as a storage drive for files.

The WD drive only freezes occasional (more then it does not) when reading data from the drive, but writing has never been a problem.

The hard drive details are as follows:

As said, the Seagate froze with 3 separate hardware setups at the same point of Windows installation

Both drives have been formatted (long) and remade NTFS file system and checked with no problems using CHKDSK and each manufactures tool all reported as OK.

The WD still causes whatever PC it is hooked up to freeze randomly while reading data, same thing happens on multiple PC's when this drive is connected...

Any idea what the cause would be? Unshielded sub on my cheap Logitech 5.1 speakers maybe?

Thanks for any help!!
