I built a pc recently, but the monitor isn't responding or showing anything at all.
I'm using a Gigabyte DS3L P35 Mobo
E8400 Core 2 Dou
Mushkin 800 2x2gig
antec ea650 650watts
Seagate 250gig SATA
Sony Optiarc 20x SATA
Radeon 4850
Xigmatek CPU Cooler
I'm using an old CRT monitor which uses a VGA port.
Since the 4850 doesn't have a VGA port, i have to use the transformer provided with the video card.
When the computer turns on, the cpu fan, case fan, and Graphic Card's fan all works, and the optical drive works too. Also the phase light is lit, however the monitor won't respond, it stays on standby mode. Is the problem located in my computer or is it my monitor? Its an 6years old 17" sony monitor.
