Fan shorts computer???

I have a new build on an antec 900 and I hooked up the 200mm up to the fan controller by cutting the wires stripping em and putting on the fan switch.. Well the computer will turn off when I turn on the fan. just like that. what could be going on?

Im using the zalman ZM-MFC1 controller

I checked that and it is in the correct slots...
I dont know if there is something wrong with my psu or the fan is shorting somewhere causing the psu to fail cause the fan controller is not attached to the motherboard except for the 3pin's for the rpm

So what happens if you disconnect the controller from the MB?
