My brand new 4850 is constantly crashing...
I bought a brand new Gigabyte ATI HD 4850, but every time i launch a game the fan goes off screen goes black for a second, after that windows shows me an error message saying that the monitor crashed and is now ok.
But here's the deal, every time to time, my pc will simply bluescreen on me, and I'm thinking is probably the same thing.
My whole pc is brand new, i have a Gigabyte GA-X48-DS4, 4 gigs of ram (some corsair ones with cooling), that graphics card and I'm feeding that and a couple of other stuff with a 500w power suply.
Could someone help me? any chances its not the graphics card?

Also are you running vista and catalyst control centre 8.7 or 8.8 Those two are a disaster area for 48xx owners with vista. They cause driver has stopped responding errors all the time (8.7 is worse than 8.8)

Power supply, replace it with something reputable.
Vista... ugh. I am not totally sure on this one but i guess you need to upgrade you catalyst drivers for vista.
