my cousin has high speed internet next door. we have installed a wireless n router in his house and a wireless notebook card in my desk top. the signal is not the greatest, i have been told that if i buy a wireless router n, i can install it in my house and it should pick up the signal better. my question is how do i connect my router to his without having to run a wire from his router to mine?

A wire between the routers would be best.
But...

Check to see if any router you are looking at buying can be configured to run as a wireless bridge. Then It can connect to your cousin's router wirelessly and bridge the connection to your desktop.

Also see if his router has the ability to utilize aftermarket antennas. Larger antenna = better signal.
