I can't copy chinese characters from a document and paste them

When i copy a chinese character from a document and then paste it into another one, the characters are different, they are weird symbols. Can anyone help me to solve this problem?

You need to download and install the windows Chinese character pack. You can get it from the windows website.

I do have it. I can write Chinese in my word document but it does not seem to copy characters to a document and paste them into another one, the characters change. :-(
