Intermttent Video on Gigabyte GA-73PVM

New computer running XP Pro SP3. Unit ran well for about 1 month. Now sometimes on booting the first splash screen appears goes black and stays like that. Works well in safe mode. I reloaded the video driver - this appeared to resolve the problem the first time around. Now reloading the driver has no effect. After switching on a few times it may go. One never knows when it is going to work. Once working there are no problems.

Are you using on-board video, or a separate GPU? Video driver rev#? BIOS rev?

I am using on board video however since I submitted the question further "funnies" started happening so I reloaded the XP-PRO operating system. This has cured all the problems. It all seemed to happen after doing an XP update. Rolling back to a previous time did not cure the problems. Thanks for the reply.
