installing a second hard drive

I am adding a second sata hard drive and have a question for someone about the cables for the new hard drive. I know I need a sata cable but do I need a power cable. The hard drive that is in the computer does not have anything plugged into the 4 pin power plug.

The drive needs power. It can get it thourgh the SATA power connector (different from the data connector) or through the older version 4 pin connector. If your system has the SATA power connector from the power supply use that, otherwise use the 4 pin style. Do not use both.
