could anybody tell me?
this is my 1st build

Motherboard: EVGA nForce-790i Ultra SLI, DDR3 Socket-775, 2xGbLAN, 3xPCI-Ex(2.0)16
Processor Intel Core™ 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz Socket LGA775, 1333MHz, 12MB, BOXED w/fan

Case: ANTEC - Nine Hundred/Ultimate Gamer Case-


PSU: Corsair Powersupply 750W Black, ATX/EPS, 140mm Fan, 8xSATA, SLI

Optical Drive: EC DVD±RW burner AD-7200S, 20x, SATA, DVD+R/+RW/DVD-R/-RW/Ram, Black (bulk)


Memory: 2 xCorsair XMS3 4GB PC12800 DDR3 1600MHz C9 DHX Ram 2 x2GB

Hard Drive: Western Digital VelociRaptor 150GB, 10000RPM, SATA, 3 Gb/s, 16MB
2 xSeagate Barracuda 7200.1 500GB 7200RPM S300 32MB

Graphics Card: 2x EVGA GEFORCE 9600GT 512MB PCI-E 2.0 SUPERCLOCKED GRAPHICS CARD

You'll probably need an IDE optical drive in order to install if you're running Vista. I've fought this issue on several systems in the lab. Afterward, feel free to swap back to SATA.

I've never had a problem installing Vista on SATA hard drives from a SATA dvd drive.

I'm not a fan of nvidia chipsets but I think you have a nice build there. The video cards are kind of weak though. I'd think you'd be better off with one nice video card than 2 9600s in SLI.

sorry i've only limited knowledge at the mo, i.m only learning, why wil it not work with a sata drive? is ide and ata the same standard?

thanks enthusiast i have most of it ordered, just not the graphics cards think i wil get a 9800gtx 512mb 2.3gz
