Current Setup:
GA-MA78GPM-DS2H Mobo
AMD 9850 CPU AM2+
4GB 1066 (2GB Sticks) G.Skill Memory Kit.

Purchased another 4GB 1066 G.Skill Memory Kit.

Put the new pair of 4GB into Slots 0 & 1. Adjusted memory settings in BIOS.

5-5-5-15
Voltage = 2.0v

Attempts to post and receives the error: Re-setting CMOS - System is now in Safe Mode. Then the manual settings downgrade back to DDR2 800 instead of the 1066 at 5.33mhz.

Ran memtest86 on new RAM and no errors found.

I can replace the new pair with the old pair for 4GB and it post to Vista Ultimate 64x just fine.

Can this mobo handle 8GB of 1066 memory? Gigabyte says it can if using 1066 with an AM2+ cpu.

Anyone else attempt to install more then 4GB of memory using any GB board?

Try a higher voltage like 2.2 just to see if it will boot. I don't know what the AMD systems are like but on a Intel I would also put the Northbridge voltage up +0.1V , on the AMD is there a setting to the same effect?
