Hello everyone and Happy New Years.
For the past couple of weeks i have been looking into a NAS and or a file server. I am fairly comfortable with computers and have built about a dozen. This is what I hope to accomplish:
1. A storage solution for music/ videos/ backup for my computers and HTPC
2. Access to my files over the internet (i travel alot)
3. Low power draw
4. RAID 1 for backup
5. Printer server
I don't know if building another computer would be a better idea. I have never built a server or used server software. I don't need a ton of space although I would like to use it for years to come. I'm guessing around 2 tb would be enough. My budget is small. The less i spend the better.
