Allendale is still a Core 2 CPU just with less L2 cache and no x86 Vitalization support.
If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck and tastes like a duck..... It mus be a Core 2

This lack of functionality is starting to get on my nerves, Toms.

Just as Netburst = all Pentium Fours, C2D = all cores based of this arch. C2D is the name of the Arch, not the chip. The Netburst Arch had "Willies", Northwoods, and Presshots, the C2D line up has Allendales, Conroes, and Kentsfields.
This begs the question, what is the name of the new arch? Its still heavily based on Core 2, but can't really be called that due to the IMC right?
(as a side note, whats this BS with registering my account? How screwed up is toms getting?)
Based on what I read Intel was going to call the e2XXX series Core 2 Duo but then pulled "Pentium" out of it's ass one last time.
Would you guys, the hardware enthusists, get mad if I called it a Core 2 Duo.
If no, how about Core 2 duo lite
If you bought it, you can call it whatever you want, it's yours. Call it Catherine Zeta-Jones if you want. Now seriously, I don't know why they brought back the "Pentium" thing. It just brings back sad memories of Netburst.
