Consider a $200 i7 board if you upgrading stuff besides just a mobo.

whats your budget? are you wanting SLI, crossfire? they are both good boards and have their merits. if your starting fresh, roadrunner's idea is a pretty good one as well.

Im planning on going with a E8500 cpu. I may possibly do SLI in the future but Im going to stick with a single GTX 260 Core 216 for a little while. Im building my own, starting fresh

i7 cpu's are too expensive for me right now. I wasn't wanting to spend more than $250 on a mobo, if theres a really good one for a little more, I might consider but I've been trying to decide on so many mobo's... from the 780i to the 780i FTW, the ASUS Striker II.....etc. I've narrowed it down to these 2 boards and can't decide and Im not sure which will be the better/best one for me.

Considering that the P5Q doesn't SLI, I'd suggest the 780i, or a 750i.
