Hello!

My current system is like so:

E6300 processor
X1950 PRO GPU
2GB ram 800mhz kingston
250GB 7200rpm HD
ASUS P5B motherbard
Enermax 500W PSU

I want to upgrade since LGA755 and PCI-E are still things I have. I thought about getting a Q9450 and a HD4870 as well as another 2GB or maybe another, faster set of ram, and a 1TB HD. That would cost about 800$. Is it worth it? Or should I just get a new rig...

I wouldn't dump much money into an upgrade now with the Nehalem and the new socket CPUs and motherboards so close to coming out. Instead i'd upgrade things like the GPU and PSU that can be carried over into a new build. If you upgrade the RAM and CPU they won't be useable in a new Nehalem build.

yeah but if I get a Nehalem I would propably get an entire new computer, so my way I would eventually have 2 computers, and for now at least until Nehalem is cheap enough for me to buy, I would have a decent computer.
