Hello,
when I start my PC it says 'decting Drives, None Found' then starts OK anyway. I recently replaced a 'failed' PATA HD for a new SATA HD.Everything seems to be OK in the BIOS, i.e. both drives are shown. Has this confused windows OS or indeed just its' start sequence?

I get the same message every time I start my computer and I have come to ignor it because everything works just fine. It might be looking for something that is not installed but is an option in the bios , like an e-sata drive or a usb drive of some kind either way it doesn't interfere with the loading of the OS.

Have you completed a windows update after installing the new Sata Hdd, check for the optional updates too, because sometimes windows will see an error and set it as an optional update if it's not effecting the OS too much.
