First time posting, so bare with me...thanks.

My CPU idles @ 36-38 C, but under a load such as S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is jumps up to 54 C quite rapidly, and I was wondering if this was normal or what.

My Comp: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (Clawhammer)
Visiontek ATI Radeon x1650 Pro w/ 512M
Corsair 2GB RAM
Antec 550W PS

For Fans, I have all Thermaltakes, 1 on my side panel, 2 in the back, and my CPU Heatsink.

Plus the paste I used on my CPU is generic heatsink component, need to get my hands on some Arctic Silver....definitely know that.

If anyone can help or make some suggestions of what to do...that would be greatly appreciated.

54C is normal, some Arctic Silver would lower temperature readings by several degrees.

Yep, Athlon 64's thermal threshold is 68C, as long as you stay below it, it's fine.
