Current Setup:

Mobo: Asus P5E3 premium X48
Processor: Q9550
Cooler: Thermalright Ultra Extreme Black (with 2x Noctua P12 fans in push pull)
Ram: OCZ DDR3 ddr3 1600
Graphics: Sapphire 4870x2
PSU: Corsair HX1000
Sound: Asus DX2
HDD: 300GB Velociraptor
HDD2: Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB
Case: Coolermaster Cosmos S

Resolution: 1920x1200
Current Drivers: Cat 8.8

So I'm not overclocked at the moment because I wanted to make sure that everything is working fine before I start messing with my processor and ram. I installed Crysis today and was hoping to see some awesome visuals... What I'm seeing instead is sever artifacting. Green and red squares popping up, weird flickering of scenery and other wonderful things. I have all settings on high for now but I should be able to run like this without a problem.

I've been monitoring the temps and they seem to be in the 60's when being stressed (I turn up the fan speed to 50% just to keep it cool).

I'm sure there's something that I'm missing that you guys can help me out on! Thanks!

I had a similar thing. I moved one of the settings from high to very high and it fixed it. Now I just tried to go back and replicate the issue and I can't make it happen again. After mucking around with all the settings I have no idea which one had fixed the problem originally, maybe shaders or objects; left hand column anyhow.

Vista 64 and 8.8 drivers.

So here's some info...

If I go into CCC to the ATI Overdrive I see the following...

ATI Radeon HD4870 X2 [SyncMaster]

Where it says my GPU activity is 324% and my temp is 70 degrees.

If I go to...

ATI Radeon HD4870 X2

My GPU activity is 0% and temp is 44 degrees...

Something is seriously wrong.

Now I'm not sure if there is still a problem.

Ran the game with everything set to high and it all seemed to work properly...

I'll keep the thread updated if I find something.

I don't think this is related to your problem. I noticed some strange activity on startup I described in this thread. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/254188-33-4870x2-high-startup-temps

Well I figured out the problem :sarcastic:

Turns out the GPU's and memory were running at different clock speeds. I don't know HOW I missed it but it seems to have fixed everything.

On another note... I think I have to look at water cooling. These things just get too hot to feel comfortable and at 50% the fans are too loud unless you have a headset.
