Hello

today i was screwing around with some programs. like speedfan and cpu-z

now, i'm using a hp DV6000 notebook, with an amd turion x2 on a Quanta 30B8 motherboard.
i know that i have a geforce go 7200 gpu, but in cpu-z there stands: chipset NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100
southbridge NVIDIA nForce 410/430

so what i was asking myself: is that 7200 a false name, and actually performing like a stupid 6100? or is it the minimum gpu that you can put on that mobo? i know nothing about notebook motherboard, but i want to learn about them. and i even don't know much about cpu-z. i only know where to find the things i need...

can somebody pop an answer?

thanks in advice...

My advice would be to go to HP's website and find your vid card driver there. Punch in the model number not the series number and go to the drivers section. They should have the latest version there for your lappy.

i have the latest version of my laptop.

i know i can't get support from nvidia drivers. hp make their own gpu's. like go7200, or a 9600gs ... name it, they've build it their own.

but that's why i was asking if that go7200 is a real 7200 or a renamed 6100 like cpu-z said in the motherboard section.

so: i'm not looking for new drivers, i'm looking for an answer about the 7200 to be a real 7200. if it isn't so, they've ripped me of !!

GPU-Z might give you the information you are looking for.
Not sure if it works with Notebooks.
Chipset NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100 southbridge NVIDIA nForce 410/430 does not determine the video card. Those are motherboard characteristics.

:D thanks, i was confused with cpu-z
i can give you a screenshot, but i don't think it's interesting to see. so i guess i have a go 7200 on a 6100 chipset.
