Built my new system a few days ago, now my lcd screen flickers. Its much more noticeable on web pages with a darker background. The native resolution is 1440x900 and ive set the refresh rate to 60hz (the max for this resolution allowed by my monitor). I used the same graphics card in my old system with the same latest nvidia drivers. Im also using the same monitor at the same resolution and refresh rate. The problem occurs in both xp32 and xp64.

My system:

Belinea 1925 S1W
Bliss GeForce 8800 GT PCX - 1 GB DDR3 - PCI-E 2.0
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 Stepping
OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 1000Mhz/PC2-8000 PLATINUM Memory Unbuffered CL5 DUAL CHANNEL
Asus P5Q P45 Socket 775 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
Samsung SpinPoint F1 HD103UJ 1TB Hard Drive SATAII *32MB Cache* - OEM
Hiper 630W 85% Efficiency PSU - SLI Ready

There was an option in the bios concerning the PCI express interface, apparently it allows for a more efficient over clocking of the graphics card, I turned this off but it did not affect the screen flicker. The monitor doesn't have a dvi port so ive used a dvi to vga converter.

Since there have been no replies, I take it everybody else is as baffled as me.

Well I dont get the screen flicker when I hook it up to my lcd tv, so I guess the problem lies with either the monitor cable, the dvi to vga converter or the screen itself is buggered.
