VGA Slot compatiably issuse

Hi all,

i have a problem.

i suppose to buy Vga card.This VGA support only PCI Express x16 2.0.But my mobo support only X16 slots.
Can i install this vga card on my Mobo ?

Mobo:-GA-EP35-DS3P
vGA- MSI R4650-D512

yeah, it'll fit and work just fine.

the standards (PCIe and PCIe 2.0) are compatible. In a missmatch situation it'll only work at lower speed though, but so far that isn't a problem at all, there's still plenty of bandwidht available.

I must see this same question at least every onther day.
PCIe 2.0 cards are backwards compatabile with PCIe 1.0 slots.
Tho only advantage to PCI 2.0 is it has higher memory bandwidth.
The PCIe 1.0 buss still supplies plenty of bandwidth for all but the most outragous setups. Even extreme high end tri/quad card overclocked to the hilt on water or nitrogen setups will barely start to make use of the extra memory bandwidth of the 2.0 buss.
