AMD Athlon X2 BE-2400 Brisbane 2.3GHz

vs

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Brisbane 2.3GHz
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819103221

Both are the exact same price, speed, cache... everything. Except the BE is listed as 45w(runs at 1.25v) and the 4400+ as 65w(at 1.35v)
Is there any point in considering the 4400+? Does it have any advantages in overclocking or something that I'm unaware of?

I do know if there is a difference between then when overclocking but as you pointed out the only difference between them is the TDP rating.

BE,,,BLACK EDITION Multiplier is not locked, overclocking is just a multiplier change away, higher that is..ok???...also do not usually come with heat sink and fan,,gotta get our own........Arctic Cooler 64 pro, here works like charm..
ps..get the 5000be or higher they start at 2.6 ghz much better for today's video cards ,,, 8800gt and up.....:)

The 2400 is likely an energy efficient model, which are usually binned higher. If priced the same, I'd grab the BE 2400.

Actually from what I've read the BE in the BE-2400 does NOT mean a black edition chip but rather "best efficiency" referring to the lower power rather than unlocked multipliers.
Is this correct?

yes your correct jyjjy some models have BE they don't put that in the model number.

Why is the difference in price so little difference between BE and regular compared to Extreme and regular for intel (don't tell me "because intel is better" )

Because Intel is greedy.
