Hi guys, was wondering, but can a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme fit in my MSI 790FX mobo? I've heard some people say that due to the plastic backplate of the mobo, the air cooling can't be installed, is that true? Also, will it accomadate my Corsair Dominator Ram? Thanks!
Most likely, I think your concern should be whether the fan can fit into the case. Got a test i7 870 with its own Thermalright; if the case didn't have a bulging grill over the CPU the fan wouldn't have fit!
Whether the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme will fit depends on your pc case rather than the motherboard. The case should be at least 8 inches wide.
The Corsair Dominator memory sticks have extra tall heatspreaders that sort of look like a comb. Those extra tall heatspreaders will interfere the large tower style cpu heatsinks.
