I have a question, i bought a triple channel memory kit from corsair (listed as 1333MHZ), but my system shows that it is running a 1066MHZ, I have seen that the base clock for my i7 920 is set to 133 MHZ and if I want to have the 1333MHZ memory i need to raise the base clock up to 166 MHZ but I am using the stock cooler and I would like to know if it would be enough to handle the temperature (since the i7 would be at 3320MHZ).
You can increase your memory multiplier to get it to 1333Mhz (or really close) and leave the base clock at 133 if you don't want to overclock. If you decide to overclock, then you might want to start looking at your temperatures at load and tweak your voltages. Look around for overclocking guides for the i7 if you go that route.
