Here is what I plan on getting or already have:

Plan:

1) Q6600 processor

2) Motherboard - unsure

3) ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler

Already Have:

4) Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

5) OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

6) EVGA 512-P3-N800-TR GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

7) DVD Combo Drive

8) 500W Supply

9) Antec 300 Case

_________________________________________________________
Here are my questions/concerns:

1) Is 500W enough? If not, how much will I need?

2) Do you know if there will be enough space in the case to fit all these components? If not, how do I go about figuring it out?

Thank you very much for the help.

I just ordered a:

1. ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 ATX Intel Motherboard

2. Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor

I was wondering if any of you knew, how often people fry their mobo's or chip or any other component?

also did i make a 'good' choice on the mobo?

If you are careful you shouldn't have any problems, get quality stuff. However, make sure you take ESD precautions when building, otherwise you can cause problems. Mainly, just make sure you ground yourself to a metal unpainted part of your case before installing components, don't move too much during installations and you should be fine.
