My 8800gtx

Im using a nvidia 8800gtx, and im running the fur mark... to test my card, im running a max of 65 fps 45 min like 50 avg at 1440x900... I have no clue on know if this is avg or what not, but I also saw it reach 80-84C isnt that extremely high???

Also im running via hdmi cable not a vga cable, I think.... will a vga cable make a differance because of the lower quality of signal??? For my frames per second that is....

That temperature is high, although if it doesn't lost stability and you don't see artifacts, it's not too bad.

Also keep in mind Furmark, being a stress utility, will fully stress the gpu with highest possible efficiency. Temperature shouldn't run as high in games. It's just like how prime95 stress cpu to the limits while typical programs do not.

GPUs can withstand pretty high temperatures in comparison to most CPUs. It is not uncommon to see temps of 80C+ when the card is under a heavy load like FurMark. Still, it is unhealthy (for the card :p) to run at 80C+ for extended periods of time; I'd recommend setting up a fan profile in RivaTuner to keep those temps in check.
