Does my power supply work with this card.

I bought a 650 Watt eXtreme Power SLI on newegg http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?category_id=27&product_id=2740 and was wondering if it would power an ASUS EN9800GT Ultimate http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121266. My current system uses 275 watts according to eXtreme Supply Calculator in the FAQ page and i can post the specs if you want. I built my system and purchased the parts, but i don't know what the 12V rail or everything else is, the most critical part of buying a new card.

Any comments would be helpful and sorry if this has been answered before, I couldn't find it.

also, PCI-E 2.0 is completely compatible with regular PCI-E as far as i know, so my Gigabyte P-35 DS3R should work well.

  1. A 650 watt power supply should be okay for a 9800GT.
  2. You're fine. That's a nice GPU, it's the 8800GTS 512 rebadged.
  3. thanks for answering me back! I recently purchased Farcry 2 and my BFG 8600GT is performing very well, but this card will complete the experience I hope. the next big upgrade will be from 2GB of OCZ Reaper RAM to at least 4, then a new mobo and a flatscreen. My E6750 has performed flawlessly, although it is a very limited overclocker by my tests.

    Thanks again for replying

haha, by rebadging you mean complete overhaul right? the specs are amazing and the benchmarks are better than some cards worth a lot more than $150.

Unfortunately it is deactivated. In some benchmarks I saw the Asus 9800gt ultimate beat a 9800gtx.
