Hi im new ont his site and i just wanted to ask if my cpu was running hot.
I am currently using
-xfx 790i mobo
-q6600 cpu
-thermal take v1 cpu cooler

My cpu seems to idle around 46-47 in the bios and idles at 43-44 (not full load) in the program speedfan
ive been looking around and this seems a little hot for not being overclocked.
i think i need to reapply the cpu cooler/thermal grease but i just wanted to make sure before I did it.
Thanks.

Idle temperature is on the high side, but not too bad. Although it's really the max load temperature that matters, not idle. Use prime95 to stress, small fft.

Thermal threshold is 71C, so as long as load temp stay below that, it's fine.
