When the new CPU i7 comes out does that mean the Extreme Processors well have a Extream price drop such as the QX9650?? or more likely be price drop towards the Quad cores like the Q9650 ??

Extreme processors tend not to drop much in price compared to the regular processors (in fact sometimes they go UP in price. Likely because retailers are paying a huge price for them and they don't want to sell at a loss. The natural evolution for these is to disapear, not drop in price.

Just an example of this... the 9650 is very slightly cheaper than the 6850 on newegg, even though it is slightly better.

My guess is that it will go up. Look what happened to high end AGP cards when Pci-e came out.

I'd say not anytime soon. You are going to be paying a premium for an i7 setup for about year after it's release. The current quads may drop a little, but don't expect much, and don't expect it to be right away.
