Hi folks. I need driver help. I have a presario X1000 that I've been using for about 4 years. it runs Win 2003 and has an Intel Pro/Wireless 2100 mini pci adapter. I'm not sure how I git the driver to load at the time I built it out, but it worked fine. I recently had to replace the card so I got an Intel 2200BG PCI Adapter. When I try to load these drivers, however, the device fails. Device Manager recognizes it and tells me it fails becuase the driver needs to be replaced. I've tried both the XP and Vista Drivers. Intel simply doesn't write drivers for wirelass adapters for Win 2003.
As I see it, I have 3 options. I have no prefeerence for any of them. I just want my wireless to work . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm embarrassed to say how many hours I've lost trying to solve this myself.
- I can figure out how to load either the XP or vista driver into W2K3 and make it work
- I can pick another card that Windows 2003 drivers readily available
- I can find a Windows 2003 driver for the Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG adapter
