I am trying to play movies on my PC and run them through my Sony HT-7000DH Home Theater System. I can get 5.1 sound on all 5 speakers in Dolby Prologic but I cannot get the multichannel decoder to work on the Sony receiver. The blue Multi Channel Decoding LED on the front of the receiver does not light up and there is not the loudness you hear in multichannel surround sound. I have the X-Fi sound card(latest drivers and version of Creative Console Launcher) connected to the Home Theater System by optical cable through a digital Flexijack I/O Module adaptor from Creative and I have been playing a DVD movie on the version of Windows Media Player that comes with Vista 64. I can play this same DVD movie on the DVD player that came with my Home Theater System in Multichannel sound only difference is it is connected by a coaxial cable. I tried a coaxial cable connected to the I/O Module from Creative and it still was only in Dolby Prologic. I do not really have an spare PCI express slot only a PCI slot for a sound card so I am trying to stay away from getting a new sound card that would have to have a PCI express slot.
