I really like the GIGABYTE GA-MA78G-DS3H motherboard but i want an nvidia card like a 9800gtx. I was wondering if they would work together. I don't plan on running multiple cards. If not i might just get a 4850.

Yes, it should work. You will have to disable the onboard video though and install both ATI and NVidia drivers.
