SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) surpassed its 2007 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goal and now intends to cut normalized emissions by a third by 2010

Quote :

The company takes a triple-pronged approach to climate change by focusing on its operations, products and partnerships. AMD slashed normalized GHG emissions in its operations 50 percent between 2002 and 2007, and cut energy consumption by 30 percent. By 2010, AMD intends to reduce normalized GHG emissions 33 percent, measured against a 2006 baseline, and lower energy use by 40 percent

Quote :

AMD also is reducing emissions in its own operations by building new greener operations and manufacturing facilities, retrofitting old ones and buying renewable energy. Earlier this year AMD completed its LEED Gold-certified Lone Star campus in Austin, Texas, which runs on 100 percent green power

Quote :

To produce greener products, AMD in 2005 began concentrating on making chips with improved performance per watt, rather than solely focusing on performance. Earlier this year, the company released its several processors and chipsets designed to use less power, including its Phenom multi-core processors

Impressive!!! Lets all celebrate AMDs green credentials!!!!

Go Green....Go AMD!!!

You forget to give credit to Intel! Their products use LESS electricity and do more computations\operations.

If you would have removed the needless Intel bashing from your post I would have joined you in applause for AMD.

Hello 2007.
I think he was referring to AMD's more recent xxxxE series or whatever. Regardless, thunderman, please stop making these threads. I used to be an AMD fanboy and now these stupid threads are really pissing me off.

The main point of those was to simply show that Intel tends to be under the rated TDP of the CPU, while AMD tends to run at or even over the rated TDP.

Of course, that wasn't the case for Netburst, but recently, Intel's TDP ratings have been far higher than the actual power consumption of the CPU.

You're absolutely right. I'm surprised the mods haven't banned him with all of the threads that he created that have been locked.

Even though his threads are basically pointless, He doesnt violate the T.O.S. Oh and by the way most of those locked threads are because of the sock puppets not thunderman.

BadTrip has it right. Thunderman usually just makes that one post, then all that follows is his blind, loyal defenders. Might even be alt accounts :D There was one thread of his not too long ago, overnight everybody that didnt agree with "team AMD" was given -3/4 thumbs down raitings from page 1 until page 3, it was absurd. I brought it up, and was SPIKED with -5 within 4 hours.

This is true but the amount of FUD he adds into it and bashing gets annoying. Too bad there isn't a "No idiots" clause......
