If you buying from newegg, filter your options with intel under $100, and get something better. This mobo pathetic.
Get P35 or p45 models at least. Like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 813131299R, nice p45 motherboard. What I got about 2 month ago.

Then for proccessor the best obviously is Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 (not for the board you chose though), which cost $1500, so tell your budget first and what's your purpose.

That fastest processor that motherboard can use is an e2220. It's limited by the 800mhz fsb.

God, you might as well invest in a new mobo at that point.

------------------------------ Intel qx9650 @3.81GHz (10x multi) + EVGA 780i SLI mobo @381MHz FSB
2x EVGA 8800GT 512mb OC'd, OCZ DDR2 1066MHz 4gb
OCZ 850W PSU, Seagate 750GB HDD SATA 32mb cache CM Stacker 830 SE
Sound setup: FireFace 800, JBL 4328 speakers

Also tell if you got DDR or DDR2?
The mobo you refered is microATX, which smaller than standart ATX. You should check if your case support ATX size mobo for better options. Either check what's your case model, or at least what mobo you currently have, so someone could tell you if its ATX or micro.
What socket is your grapgic card? AGP or PCI-e? The easiest way I'm thinking to check is download GPU-Z http://www.techpowerup.com/downloa [...] 0.2.8.html. Its free without install.

The specs say DDR2 533 and PCI-E, the only thing is it'd be worthless getting anything better than a 3850 at the VERY best with all the bottlenecking going on.

He's already got the mobo, it's the CPU that he wants under $100; at least that's how I read it. But the other posters are right in that you need to invest in a better motherboard. Actually, since it seems like you're running a gateway from the link you provided, you need to invest in a whole new computer. If you can, drop more bank on this project, like $750 - $1000, and build a whole new computer. You'll be happier than a pig in $hit then. You just really have no worthy upgrade options with you're current board.
