my PC :
CPU QX9550 3.4G
RAM DDR2 1066 2g*4 (only up to 3.5 G on XP)
motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3 --> PCIe 1.1
videocard : powercolor 4870x2 2G DDR 5
but my current system was XP SP3 and run Crysis v 1.21 with
24 inch BenQ V2400W : 1920*1200 all only high and only 2AA no SynV
my god : my FPS only around 20~25 If set to very high --> the FPS down to <15 sometimes only 5~10 what is the problem, driver ? or system ? vista will be better ? or even my board (PCIE 1.1)
my current driver is from the " original CD " in the box of my product box
Is the 8.8 version driver on the official site for 4800 series fitting my 4870x2?
Please !!!!
Uhm... Crysis can't run at Very High under WinXP, at least not unpatched to do so i think, but it ain't the 1.21 patch.
And yeah, prolly you need the Hotfixes from ATi website, since i think you might have the 8.6 unpatched. Also, 8.8 don't add much to gaming in the 48xx series. So, my recomendation is this: install the hotfixes for your current drivers and wait till Catalyst 8.9 pops out (hopefully it will fix a lot of issues on the 48xx series).
You purchased a card who's performance is solely dependent on the efficiency of the crossfire drivers is the problem. That, and you're still running an obsolete OS.

Uhm... i wouldn't say obsolete, but, for a M$ OS, "rock solid" comes to mind
Vista still is struggling to get a lot of things from XP to work fine. Wich, btw, in XP work very well indeed.
So, don't say "obsolete", cause that word is not even close to describe XP.
