Is my VGA fan not mounted properly?

I'm using a hd4850 and I remember my temps got as high as 85c, and while idling it didn't pass the high 50's and now this thing idles at 63c and while in load it goes to an alarming temp of 100º (fan at 70%), could it be that my fan got badly placed in the first place (didnt build the pc, I just bought the parts and made a store put them together, dad's idea...) and now it got out of place or something? this is very frustrating since I can't play anything...

Clean the dust off the fans/heatsinks???

make sure you have decent airflow in the case. I had to put a extra fan in my case to vent out the hot air when i got the HD4850, something i did,nt have to do with my old 8800gt
