In the beginning, my 4850 recorded 44C idle at 60% fan speed, and 58C at load on source games. A month latter i started to notice that the idle temps no longer went down 50C and the load temps go beyond 65C (60%).
Now my idle temps at 40% fan speed hit 66C and my load ones do not go further 70C because when the gpu reaches tha temp, the fancooler jumps automatically to 100% speed. even with 60% fan speed, idle temps exceed 60C sometimes. I really dont know what to do and i know that buying an aftermarket vga cooler is not the only way to solve this problem. Any help would be appreciated. My 4850 is an ASUS one and i have installed the latest drives into it. thnks.

Don't worry about it. The 4850 is capable of running hot or else they wouldn't have marketed it. As long as it doesn't hit 95-100c you're fine.
