Hey guys, :hello:

Im planning to do xfire in the very near future, but i need to purchase a new mobo to support x-fire. for the moment i have p35.

I can sell my 9800gtx (800/2000/1225)

And purchase a Sapphire 4850 with the cooler for cheaper. Would it be worth it. Would i see an imporvement for the moment on my 19".

Regards

HD4850 is slightly faster than the 9800 GTX.
Not worth spending a lot of money on.

Hello mate :)
i agree with evongugg,HD 4850 is better than 9800GTX but not much especially in the resolution that u have, the difference isnt noticeable.
Also u wont benefit from either SLI/CF in that resolution,so keep your 9800GTX it will serve u well:)

That's going to be a downgrade. Stock 9800gtx runs 675mhz core, which was what benchmarkers use. 800mhz is a big enough oc to overshoot 4850's modest advantage.

Thanks for the reply's.

But im (hopefully) going to be upgrading to a 24" 1920x1200 Screen. And the 1st hd4850 will be the stepping stone towards, xfire.

Is it worth it, if i can sell the 9800gtx and buy a 4850 with a lill cash to spare ?

It's still a no for single 4850. But dual 4850 is definitely worth an upgrade. Keep in mind, you'll have to upgrade motherboard too. P35 runs second slot in pcie1.1x4 in cf mode, which means major bottleneck. Even p45 with pcie2.0x8 will bottleneck. You'll need x38/48, with pcie2.0x16.
