So I'm looking to lower temps to further overclocked q6600, but have a college student budget. I know that Thermaltake doesn't have a great reputation for water cooling, but they seem to be the cheapest. That being said would the BigWater 735 be a decent system if I also threw a Swiftech 320 rad in the loop? Would it make enough difference over my CNPS9700 to warrant the cost of about $110?

Presently I'm at 438 x 8 (3.5ghz) with the Tcase on my cpu at 75 and my cores averaging about 81 under P95 small FFTs I'm running 1.408v and my cpu is drawing 145W of electrical power. I'd assume the thermal power would have to be just slightly under that.

The TT pump and CPU block is pretty crappy. Please don't buy any TT WC parts.
You'd be better served by saving your money till you can buy a full quality WC loop. You can do it for about $250 with some careful purchasing.

^Gotta agree with that.

DO NOT get the CNPS9700. It's OLD and no longer the king. Get a Core Contact Freezer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] -_-Product
$35 before MIR.

I already have the CNPS9700. It's what I'm running now and what I'm considering upgrading from.

Ah... I see. lol. I misread it. In that case, get the CCF for $20.

Okay, well don't go water till you got the $$. Otherwise you'll spend lots more down the raod fixing issues.
